I'm not a typical immortal. I only have maybe a year of active wake time before my hibernation, which lasts decades. When I wake up, I have amnesia. I'm programmed so starting over isn't hard at all. [ She bonds with and adapts to the first circumstances she finds, essentially. ]
I only get pieces of my past back over time. [ This is an easier explanation than the whole buying memories thing, and it's true enough. She does get flashes of memories even now. They just don't always make sense. ]
