I suppose fair is fair, then, because I just open my mouth around you and compliments fall out. Quite the predicament. I think you'll have to get used to it.
I'll do my best to soothe your misery however I can. [ Namely with snuggles, which she proceeds to offer. Some things she likes more than food. ]
Would you like to watch my new memory before we finish up? I'm interested in an objective perspective, because I don't know what to make of it. I wasn't thinking very clearly. [ And when they do find some privacy, she doesn't want to be focused on her past. Better to get it over with. ]
Thank you. [ She gives him a kiss on the cheek before going to dig out her phone, and settles in beside him before replaying the memory. It's not traumatic, at least? ]
[ Her mind in that memory is totally blank. Not even language present, nothing. So it's a big challenge to try and really get much from it. She doesn't want to color his thoughts with her attempts at explanations, so in the end she just waits. ]
[Doctor watches, attention fixed on the screen. Normally he might make a comment about her nudity, but this is important and he wants to take is seriously.]
...Coming out of hibernation, perhaps. Or - no, 'tis closer to a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis.
Hibernation makes sense, I suppose. There were no words in my head, only feelings. [ She doesn't say that the state of mind is similar to her massacre, except for that the only feeling was rage. In this memory she had a range of emotions swimming around, as if trying to decide which would win out. ]
A butterfly, hm? It's nice to be compared to something beautiful. [ As opposed to the monster she is. ]
[ She smiles and rests her head back on his shoulder. Even odd memories are no match for Doctor's compliments. ]
Such a sweet thing to say. I think that line would work very well on me. I would fall helplessly into your arms and look up at you with sad eyes and tell you that you shouldn't say such things, because of course Master has forbidden his servants to be involved... [ bad romance novel description to match the maid outfits is definitely go, and she plays it up nicely. Thank you Kitsu for the melodrama practice. ]
[ She covers her mouth with one hand, ostensibly a scandalized gasp but really she's trying not to laugh. ]
No matter how I try to resist, my willpower is crumbling. How can I possibly manage to clear Master's dinner table when you're filling my head with such thoughts?
That is lucky. And you're equally good at cheering me up. [ Which is some of the reason she wanted him to see that memory, even if it wasn't the biggest part. He accepts her when she feels anything but acceptable. ]
Are you still nibbling? [ She might swoop up the last sandwich if he's not eating it ]
I hope it goes without saying that I'd love to see you anytime. And no more fake breakups unless the Production is behind it. And I don't see any real ones in the near future, either. [ Unless there's a substantial curve ball, but Doctor seems adept at handling those. ]
guess who thought this posted but it did not
/pats!
I suppose it would be useless to pretend I'm too ladylike to accept that compliment without swooning.

[Realistically, he doesn't know any more about her past than she does, and without context it's hard to tell some things...]

I'd ask you to enlighten me, but I think I much prefer seeing you laugh. It's nice.

[His appetite can't match hers, so he figured the majority of the food was going to her anyway.]

And thank you for the picnic. It was perfect. [ Even if she does eat too much and apparently hibernates on occasion. ]

[Putting everything back in the basket, no littering here.]
