When he sees her, he's going to hug her.

Saya's so out of it that she doesn't expect to be hugged. She almost wishes she could cry about it, but she can't. She's just numb.

"Hi, love."

Sometimes a hug is needed, even when one wants to cry.

"Hello," he said, stroking her hair. "If it helps, the possibility is very small. Smaller than previous experiments."

"I know you've been careful. It's not a risk I can take even so."

"...no, I know," he said quietly. There is a part of him that wants to insist on being there. That he could take it to make sure she's okay.

But he's no longer convinced he could take it. "I'm sorry."

"Why are you sorry? You made this to help me."

"That I can't be there. I wanted to be stronger," he said softly.

Don't mind Saya as she mentally adds this to the list of reasons why she's the worst.

"It's not weak to not want to kill someone you love for a second time."

"I want you to feel like you....you don't have to worry," he said.

"I know you do. I have no doubt that you'd want that for me. But it's not something anyone can give me."

His hold tightens around her. "...I still wish I could."

"But hopefully we can just go out tomorrow."

"Oh... I don't know if it'll be as soon as tomorrow. I have to ask for help first."

"....fair. Let me know when you're doing it," he said. Just so he's prepared.

"I can tell you when I make the plans what time they're for." She's not going to text him right beforehand, she'll be too shaky.

"All right," he said and kissed her temple. "I love you."

"I love you too." She pauses, sighing deeply. "Can I lay down here for a while? I know that my husband means well but he's very concerned about me and I can feel it all the time and it's not helping with my guilt."

He nods. "Of course. Do you want me to stay with you?"
