[ Saya waits nearby, holding Night Sky's hand if she's nervous, otherwise just waiting and trying to project calm confidence, which she has in spades about Kantera's medical care. ]

[Kantera puts the stethoscope in his ears and listens to Night Sky's breath. Satisfied, he steps back.]

You don't have an active infection. I'll cast a healing spell on you, but you likely don't need it.

[That said, he'll sing a wordless song under her breath, and if she has any injuries they'll clear right up.]

Night Sky held Saya's hand both to quell her nerves, and simply because it felt nice. She cocked her head at the diagnosis. "Wait... seriously?" almost too good to to be true, she thought. "Kind of sucks I had to die to solve that problem but, uh, thank you."

I can't lie, that's not great. But at least it's gone now. This isn't your home world and can't replace what you've lost, but it can be a home to you.

Night Sky laughed. "Are you two always so optimistic? Not that I'm complaining or anything. You seem to know what you're talking about."

We came from a place that thought torturing us was good business.

And our previous situations weren't much better, really. This is basically a vacation.

"Oh. Well I'm glad you're both here, in that case. Sounds like you deserve the vacation." Night Sky cleared her throat. "Anyway, I have no idea how to repay you for this, so... IOU?"

No need to repay us. It's just what you do for someone who needs it. [ She genuinely thinks this is a normal thing to do for a stranger. ]

[ Saya squeezes Night Sky's hand again. ] I'm just glad you're okay and you know that you can get close to people, if you want to.

Saya would be more upset if you hadn't let us help you, frankly. As would I.

[They're both naturally inclined to reach out and help people.]

"I'm going to say okay, but know that I don't really like owing people things so I'm going to have to figure something out eventually." She said with an amused exhale through her nose. "And I'm probably going to stay in the forest for a while, so if you need anything you know where to find me."

In that case, he likes having tea with people. I like having snacks with people. Maybe we can do that sometime as a thank-you?

"Sure." Sounded fancy — then again, they both looked kind of fancy, so that tracked. "Just tell me when and where and I'll be there with bells on."

[ Saya pulls out her phone and shows it to Night Sky. ] Did you get one of these when you arrived?

Oh. Yes? ( It's... somewhere. Give her a second. Night Sky pat herself down and eventually produced the phone, a green gladiolus dangling from it. ) This? I had no idea what I was supposed to do with it.

It's called a phone. It lets you talk to people over distance. Here...

[ She calls Night Sky's phone. Then she shows Night Sky how to answer the call, no reading necessary. ] When you do this, I'll be able to go over there and you can hear me talking through the phone.

( Night Sky stared at the screen, following Saya's instructions to the best of her ability. It seemed simple enough - but it also seemed like something she probably wouldn't utilize much. Too far beyond her. )

The things people come up with... ( She smiles over at Saya. ) I should be able to do that much though. So... call me whenever?
