I have something to tell you. Not a heavy thing really, at least not for me, just... well.

[ She keeps nibbling on the cake as she talks, though never speaking with food in her mouth or anything so crass. ]

You know I've been spending more time with Red Son. We visited the haunted house together, ended up he really saved me from some serious emotional torture the ghosts were trying to pull. And I'm not sure if he told you much, but his parents... from what I've gathered, they're being tortured by memories, something like that. He seems to think it's going to be very hard to get to them and get them out.

I saw how much it effects him, so I can't just do nothing. Not when I'm strong enough to help. So I need to go with him to set that right.

He can use dimensional portals, so he'll be able to bring me to you in Teyvat after we free his family. [ It'll be fine. This is all fine. ]

I know this isn't what we planned, but -- I have to do this. I can't just walk away.

[ It may be telling that she would offer this to Red Son since it is a big thing, but then she is fairly giving with her time and energies when those she likes are in need. ]

But - to stay behind where 'tis safe while you and he face grave danger is...

[He knows she's probably right and it's out of his ability to handle. He knows that, but it doesn't make it any easier to accept.]

[ She doesn't want to say he'd be a burden, but... yeah, a little. Unfortunately. Sometimes the badass people go on missions and the loved ones have to stay home and wait for word. It's not fair, but that's how it is. ]

I promise. There's nothing on any world that can keep me apart from you.

[ We're not talking about how those holding Red Son's parents can kill immortals. It won't do Kantera any good to hear, because her mind is made up and there's no talking her out of it despite the risks. Besides, they have to catch her first. ]

[ She bends down to kiss his hand, bless her table manners for not getting chocolate on him, it would ruin the vibe. ] And he'll be there to protect me. We'll protect each other.

[He'll worry every single day before she returns to him - she can't ask him not to worry. He couldn't stop himself even if he tried. But he won't argue against her going.]

We've had that conversation before. Why I prefer to tell people myself. And then the thing with Venti and Lumine.

I'm not angry, but... I'm begging you, think before you gossip. [ She won't have this conversation a third time, she'll just stop trusting him. And there's no coming back from that. ] I need you to respect my boundaries the way I respect yours about not being too affectionate in public -- barring when I was under status effects, that is.

I know you didn't mean any harm and it's probably from a place of being proud of me and seeing nothing wrong with what I am. But I also know how some people can get about vampires. I worry about it all the time.

I need to have control over who knows so I can feel safe.

I know you know all this, just... [ She's hoping if she explains it like that it'll sink in better. ]

I forget that anyone could ever think poorly of you, even for foolish reasons. I wish you had the luxury of forgetting that, but I know that you don't.
