It did a little, but I had something wonderful to look forward to today, so I knew I'd find a way to manage. I'll show it to you a bit later, if you like.

I don't mind, it's difficult to describe anyway, and even more difficult to explain because I was in a very odd state of mind so I'm sure I missed things.

This incredibly sweet gesture is only going to convince me to send you break-up texts more often, you realize. [ It definitely won't, but nice side benefits are nice. ]

[ Shockingly she isn't going to just start eating. Instead she pulls out glasses. ] I wasn't sure what you'd serve so I brought a few drinks. The fruit wine is more fruit than wine, I promise. [ Sorry Venti she likes her drinks sweet. ]

I'd prefer if you asked rather than taking the roundabout method of break-up texts.

I wouldn't really. Asking sounds much better. If you get anything like that from me out of the clear blue, probably best to question if it's this place messing with me rather than take it seriously.

Oh, speaking of you forgiving me... [ She pulls out a vial of liquid and hands it over. ] One day of your wings back, as promised.

All right. [ She could behave, probably, but that isn't a kink so much as a mating call so it's a challenge. Mostly though she just wants it to make him smile, if she has to restrain herself then it'll be worth it. ]

Let me know when you decide what to drink, I'll pour them out. Proper glasses and everything. [ Plastic stuff seems wasteful, and also she has some specific standards for these things -- probably from being around that rich human, but she's not going to think about that. ]

[ She pops the cork without any effort and pours it out like she's done so a thousand times, slanting the glasses so there aren't too many bubbles, then hands him one. ]

Much as I'd love to start with those cookies, I'm going to appreciate your hard work in the proper order. [ Spring roll it is! She takes a bite and could not look more delighted, but she'll finish chewing before overflowing with compliments. ]

You're even better at real world food than dream food.

Really? You're too good to me. [ She probably deserves a lecture on not acting like a child, but whatever, there's dessert at stake. So grabbing a cookie! And proceeding to look like she's gone to heaven. ]

You're in trouble now that I know how good you are at this. I'll try to use this knowledge only when absolutely necessary.

Speaking of undivided attention, I did manage to get a Heart Soldier outfit I think you might actually like. And a potato sack, actually, but that one's going to take some modifying. [ Changing the subject to something that might fluster him in a tiny way? Why would anyone think that?? ]

[ Thinking about that promise to rip it off her, hm? ] I'd offer to wear the HSS clothes to karaoke, but I have other plans for that already. [ And it's one hell of a dress. ]

I'd sure love to see you try our clothes. But I have a feeling I'd like you in just about anything.

...Oh, I do like the monster-of-the-week pajamas that Hurricane got me. That part of HSS style I'm more than happy with.

[ Don't be sorry, he can like what he likes! She's just a lot less picky about clothes than many people, probably because living so long you wear all sorts of things. ]

That does sound cute. I suppose it would be presumptuous to ask to see those sometime, hm? [ Would he be comfortable with her staying overnight? Who knows, and she's not especially pressed about it, but he is terribly comfortable, and if anything could convince her to get some real sleep for once... ]

A sleepover sounds delightful. As long as it's only for one night, of course.

[He has to fuss if she's staying away from her unit too long, he'd be worried if anyone turned grey.]

As if I could say no to that. Anytime you like, I'd be delighted. Venti can live without me for a night now and then.

Don't worry, I learned my lesson about staying at home more often. [ There was a recent greyness incident, but she got told off a whole bunch ] It's a more difficult thing to balance than I would have thought, since I hate staying alone at night. I don't sleep much but when I'm with someone at least I can stay still. Otherwise I'm just pacing the floor until morning.
